Un árbol / One Tree

Innovative Kids tiene la serie Green Start, entre ellos, One Tree / Un árbol escrito por Leslie Bockol e ilustrado por Julian Phillips. Este lindo libro se lo regalamos a mi hija el fin de semana cuando salimos de paseo a la librería. Nos pareció adorable el tema del ciclo de vida de los árboles y apropiado para celebrar el mes de la tierra con muestra bebé.
Esta serie esta hecha con un 98% de materiales reciclados e impresa con tinta a base de soja. En la última página hay más información acerca de la importancia de los árboles y cómo preservarlos.

Innovative Kids has the series Green Star. One of the books of the series is One Tree, written by Leslie Bockol and illustrated by Julian Phillips. We gave this book to our daughter on the weekend when we were on a family trip to the bookstore. We love the topic of the tree's life cycle and we find it very appropriate to celebrate Earth Month with our baby.

This series is made with 98% postconsumer recycled materials and printed with soy - based ink. On the last page there's information on the importance of trees and how to care for them.

This is just one of the delectable images that remind me of the simple beauty of nature. It was taken by the multifaceted artist Berenice Favario who is a childhood friend of mine. Expect to see quite a few of her artistic contributions along the way.

Her eco resolution was to grow her own vegetables.

Esta es sólo una de las deliciosas imágenes que me hacen pensar en la simple belleza de la naturaleza. Fue tomada por la artista multifacética Berenice Favario que es amiga mía desde la niñez. Verán más contribuciones artistícas por el camino.

Para seguir celebrando el mes de la Tierra les paso este link earthsky.org/skywatching. Ahí pueden ver que acontecimiento celeste se perfila cada día. El sitio describe los planetas y constelaciones que se pueden observar y explica como ubicarlos.

No hace falta un telescopio pero, como mi esposo es un aficionado a la astronomía , lo usamos para ver las fases de la luna u otro acontecimiento estelar notable con más detalle.

A telescope is not necessary but, since my husband is an astronomy enthusiast, we use it to see the phases of the moon and other notable sky happenings in more detail.

Earth Month / Mes de la Tierra

Maine 2008

April is Earth month and I celebrate this earth all year long with small contributions. I've started to make some simple changes in my everyday life to conserve resources, to be mindful of all chemicals that enter my home and to purchase organic and local products whenever possible. I do this with the conviction that taking time to lighten my footprint on this earth and moving towards a more sustainable lifestyle has intrinsic benefits in itself for me as a human being.

I continue to educate myself on ways to improve my carbon footprint and to preserve this Earth for future generations. My green bible is treehugger.com

Abril es el mes de la Tierra y yo lo celebro todo el año con pequeñas contribuciones. Empecé a hacer pequenos cambios en mi vida: conservando recursos, siendo cuidadosa con los químicos que hay en mi casa y comprando productos orágnicos cuando puedo. Hago esto con la convicción de que tener un impacto mas leve en nuestro paso por la tierra y llevar un estilo de vida más sostenible tiene beneficios intrínsecos para mí como ser humano.

Continuo educándome para mejorar mi impacto y para preservar la Tierra para las generaciones futuras. Mi biblia sobre el medioambiente es treehugger.com
