What are we drinking?

I'm appalled at the article from the NY Times regarding the link between water pollution and deformities in some species. Please read and especially pay attention to the multiple sources of estrogen in our water systems. The big question that this article sparked in me was: What can we do? That is, how can each of us make adjustments in our everyday life to preserve the most precious resource on Earth? One simplified answer would be to pay attention to everything we buy, use and dispose of. We end up drinking everything we produce and discard!

Now for the really scary part, they did not mention urine! Which is actually the biggest source, we've gone an add too much made up producers as well and this does not help things.

Well, actually urine is one of the ways in which estrogen gets to the water - the pills are the num 1 culprit.
